What is the Women's Spirit Circle?
Women's Spirit Circle is a gathering of women exploring Feminist Spirituality.
Feminist Spirituality as a movement has impacted Unitarian
Universalism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and Buddhism,
Native American as well as other earth-based spiritual
traditions. Women’s Spirituality is a movement of reclaiming and
celebrating female energy. There are as many paths to the divine
feminine as there are women. The Women’s Spirituality movement honors
each woman’s spiritual path as well as women’s wisdom and ways of
knowing. Women's Spirituality is an active proclamation that women are
a spark of the divine and that we ourselves are the experts on what is
meaningful in our lives,
what is sacred and what is moral.
We are a larger circle of women composed of smaller circles
of 10 to 15 women who meet regularly for council sharing. By
speaking the truth of our lives we are empowered. The process of council
sharing helps us to develop our own voices, practice active and
compassionate listening as well as strengthening the spiritual bonds of
sisterhood. The entire circle also holds seasonal celebrations and
rituals throughout the year that are open to all women and sometimes men!
