UUCF SOCIAL JUSTICE COUNCIL
The UUCF Social Justice Council (SJC) provides many effective opportunities for members and friends of Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax (UUCF) to transform the world through acts of love and justice, as stated in our UUCF Mission Statement. UUCF Volunteers Share Rebuilding Ministry in New Orleans
To fulfill this mission, the UUCF SJC initiates and supports many Social Justice projects and programs that encourage individual involvement and deepen awareness of ways to create a better, kinder, cleaner and more just world. Areas of current concern include:
- Economic justice
- Environment
- Homelessness, affordable housing
- Human and civil rights, GLBT
- Global and local poverty
- International peace and reconciliation
The SJC also nurtures congregational interest in new or overlooked issues. If you have an idea, issue or project you believe should have a voice at UUCF please contact us.
The SJC meets on the first Monday of every month (except July and August) in the UUCF Program Building, 7:30 PM.
