About UUCF
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax (UUCF) was gathered in 1955 as a liberal religious community dedicated to the free and responsible search for religious truth and meaning.
Our faith, Unitarian Universalism, is a spiritually alive and justice-centered religion. Our mission is to "support each other as we pursue spiritual growth and challenge ourselves to transform the world through acts of love and justice". Our vision is to "prepare great souls to seek, to listen, to serve".
Our congregation is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations and has adopted the Principles and Purposes of that membership; however, like all UU congregations, we are a self-governing entity. You can learn more about what we believe by reading the archives of some of our weekly sermons here.
If you have children, our Religious Exploration program can help prepare them to live in an increasingly complex society. Our children and youth learn about the variety of human beliefs and cultures - and are shown that people have a common humanity deserving of understanding, respect and celebration. Classes for all age groups (pre-K through high-school) are held during both 9:15 and 11:15 a.m. services. Our nursery is staffed during both services.
UUCF has two partner churches (in Szentegerice, Transylvania, Romania and Puriang, Khasi Hills, India) and is active in supporting the surrounding schools and villages.
We also have active Social Justice, Music, and Adult Education programs with many intergenerational activities.
