Women's Spirit Circle

What is the Women's Spirit Circle?

The mission of the Women’s Spirit Circle is to promote the well being and spiritual growth of the women of UUCF. By meeting in sacred circles we empower each other and support each other’s spiritual journeys. We seek to raise consciousness about women’s issues among ourselves, the congregation as a whole, and in the wider community by exploring feminist spirituality in its many forms.

There are three ways to participate in the Women’s Spirit Circle. One is small groups of 10-12 women who meet regularly for spiritual exploration and council sharing. By speaking the truth of our lives we are empowered. The second is seasonal celebrations and rituals which we hold throughout the year. These are organized and led by our Ritual Council with input from the participants. The third aspect is our outreach work to the larger UU Women’s community and the international women’s movement. Examples are sponsoring micro loans for women in developing countries, sending a delegation to the International Convocation of UU Women, fundraising efforts for the Fistula Foundation, and UU Women and Religion adult education courses such as "Cakes for the Queen of Heaven."

Openings in sacred circles are always available. You are most welcome to join us. For more information contact scbennettatcox [dot] net (Susan Bennett), Women’s Spirit Circle Coordinator.
