Rev. Mary Katherine Morn
I received my Masters in Divinity from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and was ordained to the Unitarian Universalist ministry in 1987. Before coming to Fairfax in 2005, I served two congregations: High Street Unitarian Universalist Church in Macon, Georgia, and First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, Tennessee. I have also done consulting ministry, teaching ministry, community ministry, and interim ministry.
As your Parish Minister, I serve as the lead minister in our congregation. In addition to being responsible for worship at UUCF, I also oversee programming and staff resources in the following areas: Religious exploration, social justice, music and arts, and stewardship.
Though ministry is sometimes hard, I love my work. It is a great privilege to participate in the work of building Unitarian Universalist communities that transform our individual lives and sometimes even the world. I have committed much of my life energy to Unitarian Universalism because I believe so deeply in its power to create a better world and to help each of us grow as individuals.
The other major commitment in my life is to my family. My husband John and I married in 1985 while we were both finishing school. Our son, Caleb, was born in 1994. John works at the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship at Georgetown University. We also share our home with our dog, Theo.
