Religious Exploration Committee

The Religious Exploration (RE) Committee is responsible for the overall direction of the Sunday morning learning program for UUCF children and youth, and plays the major role in deciding what curricula are offered and the polices that guide the program on a weekly basis. The RE Committee reports to the Lay Minister for Religious Exploration to ensure the congregation's RE program goals are consistent with the overall congregational mission, vision, values, and strategic direction. The committee also works closely with the RE staff to offer guidance and support for program implemenation.

There is also a Youth Ministry Committee (see information below) that plans events and activities for UUCF's youth (UUth) program.

Mission

Provide experiences, guidance, and resources to grow and develop values, spiritual growth, and a UU identity, as part of a safe, nurturing, and comfortable community to enable our children to be a compassionate presence in the world.

Goals

  • Reflect the vision of the congregation in delivering a UU message to, and meeting the RE needs of students.
  • Ensure physical and emotional safety of all involved in UUCF RE.
  • Have an appropriate, up to date curriculum.
  • Make religious exploration a worthwhile experience.
