Middle School Events/Activities

Our middle schoolers (7th and 8th graders) have an active social life, with monthly parties at church and frequent outings such as laser tag, ski trips, tubing, etc. We also include social justice opportunites. Parents are needed to coordinate and chaperone these events.

Are you interested in helping our wonderful UUCF Middle Schoolers on their journey towards becoming responsible and compassionate Unitarian Universalists?

The Religious Exploration Committee (REC), the REC working group on Middle School invite all interested members, friends and youth to join in efforts to plan and implement meaningful religious exploration, service, social, and other programs and activities for our youth.

Middle school social activities:

We are looking forward to an active fall.  If you are an adult interested in helping out with the Social program, please contact hendersonhagen [at] verizon [dot] net (Kelly Henderson).  If you are a middle school age youth, please make sure your family is registered for RE.  (If you normally do not attend RE but want to stay connected to the social activities, just mark "not attending".)

The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring - is the largest aerial forest park in North America. Climbers go high in the trees and meet different obstacles that challenge and thrill. In the five acre park there are more than 150 platforms installed in the trees and connected by various configurations of cable, wood, rope and zip lines to form bridges. Groups of bridges link together to form separate courses. There are 10 courses for ages seven—adult. Each course has varying difficulty level ranging from beginner to expert. Safety comes first and the fun and excitement will come naturally.  Monday, April 9, 2012. Departure- 10am at the church.  Cost is $28.89 (youth or adults).  RSVP/Questions to jennifer [dot] damashek [at] gmail [dot] com (Jennifer Damashek).  Turn in checks (made out to UUCF), liability waivers, and permission forms (see the bottom of this page) to the UUCF office by April 1st.

If you have other questions about our RE program for youth at UUCF, MRE dre [at] uucf [dot] org (Natalie Fenimore) is always available to assist.
